There’s so much to see and do within easy reach of our holiday parks in Selkirkshire. The beautiful landscape was inspiration to Scottish writers like James Hogg, the ‘Ettrick Shepherd’. His life and work are celebrated at Bowhill House, a Georgian mansion also home to an exceptional art collection and with lovely woodland walks in its extensive grounds. A must for any caravan holidays in Selkirkshire is a trip to Abbotsford house, the home built by Sir Walter Scott. As well as featuring turrets and battlements, it boasts a number of historic relics including Rob Roy’s gun. In the town of Jedburgh, pretty painted houses line the main street – take a town tour, and explore the ancient abbey ruins. And there’s wonderful walking and glorious views to enjoy in the twin valleys of Ettrick and Yarrow.
